Laser Cutting

Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a fabrication process which uses a focused, high-powered laser beam to cut material into custom shapes and designs.

The material being cut either melts, burns, vaporises or is blown away by a jet of gas leaving a high-quality edge finish. In this process, the whole laser power is concentrated on one point, with a diameter that is often less than half a millimetre.

Laser cutting is an alternative cutting process to CNC methods depending on the finish you are after.

We are able to laser cut sheet metal to order, including one-off items and prototypes to high volume production projects.

The maximum size material we can cut is 2500 x 1500 due to the size of the lasers' bed. A 10mm border is required around the outside of the material in most cases, however please ask a member of staff for definite size guides.
